Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights begins as follows: “Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family”. The conditions for this standard of living are increasingly being determined by the economic targets of the capitalist society, that is, on a different level in the different (European) countries. Apart from this our odds for actually living in “health and well-being” are more and more being reduced by the ongoing destruction of our environment and our wasteful use of the available natural resources.
